Candidates from the federal Express Entry pool with relevant work experience in an occupation that is high skilled and not on Excluded Occupation List may qualify to submit an Expression of Interest to apply for a provincial nomination.

More specifically, the Saskatchewan Express Entry stream is designed for skilled workers who:

  • Wish to live and work in Saskatchewan permanently
  • Have an active Express Entry profile registered in the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Express Entry Pool

Eligibility Criteria

You may qualify for this sub-category if you:

  • Are living outside Canada or have proof of legal status in Canada and are not a refugee claimant
  • Obtain a minimum of 60 points out of 100 on the point assessment grid of SINP
  • Meet federal Express Entry language requirements
  • Have completed minimum 1 year of training or apprenticeship or post-secondary education equivalent to the Canadian education system.
  • Submit an educational credential assessment (ECA) report from a designated organization for diploma, certificate or degree obtained outside Canada
  • Have experience in a high skilled SINP occupation list and not on the Excluded Occupation List
  • Have high skilled work experience of minimum 1 year in the past 10 years for skilled profession and 2 years in past 5 years for skilled trades.
  • Have gained work experience in the field of your post-secondary education, training or apprenticeship
  • Have a prior proof of settlement funds along with a settlement plan

Documentation requirement

Following documents are required for your application:

  • Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker Validation Code to prove that you are accepted into IRCC's Express Entry pool
  • Language Credentials from a designated testing agency like, International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) or Test d'evaluation de francais (TEF)
  • Education and Training Credentials
  • Work Experience Credentials as proof of employment
  • Proof of settlement funds and settlement plans to prove that you can financially support your household during your job search after you arrive in Canada, like, savings accounts, bonds, Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GICs), mutual funds, provident funds letter, Tax Free Savings Accounts, etc.
  • Previous Work Experience in Saskatchewan (if applicable)
  • Previous Study Experience in Saskatchewan (if applicable)
  • Identity and Civil Status Documents
  • Valid Passports of principal applicant, his/her spouse or common-law partner and all dependent children who will accompany him/her to Canada
