UK Student Visa Stepwise Process

About Tier 4 (General) Student Visa
If you are 16 years or above and wish to complete your higher education in the UK, you must obtain a visa.
To apply for a student visa, you must get an offer letter from a university or college in the UK. The offer letter is officially known as a ‘Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies. A selected educational institution must be approved by the government of the UK and must be a ‘licensed Tier 4 sponsor’.
Eligibility Requirements
- You must obtain a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) before submitting a student visa application. When you get an unconditional offer, it’s an electronic document issued by your school, college, or university.
- You must meet financial requirements, which means you need to have enough proof of funds to pay for your tuition fees, living costs, and return tickets.
- You must prove your English language ability in all four aspects, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
- You must have a clean criminal record
- You must obtain 40 points, including:
- 30 points for a?Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies?(CAS) letter from a university that is a licensed Tier 4 sponsor
- 10 points for Funding, i.e., you must provide proof of enough funds to prove that you are capable of paying for your tuition fees and your?living cost in the UK
Application Process
To apply for the UK Student Visa (General Tier-4), you may follow the steps listed below:
- Select an institution and a study program
- Apply for admission to the selected course, and obtain an unconditional offer
- Apply for Academic Technology Approval Scheme (only if applicable)
- Obtain your ‘Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies from the desired institute
- Submit your visa application with six months
- Meet the eligibility requirements mentioned above
- Gather and submit all the supporting documents (valid passport, ATAS certificate (if applicable), valid TB test certificate (if asked), educational qualifications proof, English language test report, a letter from parent/guardian (if under 18), birth/adoption certificate, tuition fees receipts, accommodation details, proof of meeting proof of funds requirement,
- Complete and submit the form
- Pay the required application fees along with the immigration health surcharge (only if asked)
- Book your Biometrics appointment (If required)
- Attend an interview (if asked)
